Tommy to set off again tonight

08 October 2007

The disappointment in Tommy's eyes is so clear yet as always he remains to see the positives in his situation and focuses on the can do rather than the can not. I'm not saying there hasn't been thoughts of retiring from the race, but after talking to some wonderful people, including John Woodruff,Tom has now got things in perspective.

Phil Wardrop arrives in Funchal tonight with some new pilot pieces, he was on the first flight out of the UK he could possibly get on with all the bits and pieces he might need.

So as soon as the Wombat is ready, Tom will set off again and hopefully not be to far behind. Our estimates suggest that Tom will be about 240miles behind the front runners by the time he leaves tonight.

Yardley and I fly out tomorrow but I will update you again as soon as I can and let you know how things are progessing.

Belinda
